How Do Tier Two Services Start?
Tier Two Services are put into place when a student is not showing behavioral success with the Tier One interventions and supports. The first layer of support is Check-In/Check-out. Check-In/Check-out can begin by one of three processes:
1. The student has had 2 major discipline reports and/or 3 minor discipline reports in the past 6 weeks
2. The parent and/or staff member has requested that the student participate in Check-In/Check-Out
3. The student is identified as benefiting from Check-In/Check-out by the district-wide Universal Screener

Check-In/Check-Out: The First Layer of Services
Check-in/Check-out (CICO) is a Tier Two intervention Kenneth Murphy uses. CICO builds upon our Tier One interventions by providing some students a higher frequency of scheduled, positive feedback from adults, regarding the school-wide behavior expectations.
